Welcome to VOMEX
VOMEX is in the ‘help me, please’ business. We help our customers alleviate as much of the unpleasant logistics of vomiting by providing a practical and efficient emesis bag for those in distress and for their caretakers.
Who We Are
Born in Havana, Cuba, Vomex founder Jose A. Pereda has been known to be fueled by his environment. He arrived in Miami, Florida, just days before his 12th birthday without speaking any English. Not only did he adapt to his new environment, but succeeded. He went on to graduate from Miami Coral Park Senior High in 1980 and later became a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In 1990, he started his very own personal fitness training company, which he still operates to this day.
In the middle of a training session with a client, on September 11, 2001, Jose witnessed the event that would again change his life forever. When the Twin Towers fell in NYC, Jose admired the heroic efforts of those brave men and woman that gave up their lives in order to save others. At that moment, he realized that he wanted to become a Firefighter/Paramedic. By 2003, he completed the Coral Springs Fire Academy program, while holding a mortgage, supporting a family, and running a business. Later that same year, Jose became a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and the following year completed the Paramedic Program at Miami Dade College with Dean’s List recognition. In October 2004, Jose was hired by the Coral Gables Fire Department where he graduated as the #1 Recruit in his class. Moving up through the ranks from Firefighter to Assigned Paramedic to now Rescue Lieutenant, Jose also achieved the honorable recognition of Firefighter Of The Year for 2016.
While being so closely tied into the medical field, Jose saw a need for a product that just did not exist. He had a vision to create a revolutionary and unique product in 2014, a self-deploying, hands-free emesis bag. That is how Vomex was born.
As a family-owned business, Vomex thrives off of the relationships fostered and the network built throughout the last four years. The team behind Vomex strives to “Provide the Best, Fulfill the Need, and Eliminate the Mess”.

Fire Chief, Coral Gables Fire Department
"Imagine an emesis bag that the patient or the caretaker does not have to hold (during treatment or transport). Results show that using Vomex, has significantly reduced the clean-up costs of taking units out of service for decontamination. Also, it has diminished the exposure factor to our medics. Vomex should be a 'must' in every EMS unit"
“Everyone at some point experiences nausea while enjoying time on a water vessel. I keep Vomex on board and in the cabins for mental peace of mind and an easy cleanup solution.”
